Neilpryde RS Racing Evo XII
The RS:RACING EVOXII is more than an evolution from its predecessor, it is a step towards a new design, fully embracing the high aspect design we introduced in our Flight series.
With racing competition formats and courses evolving towards a mix of Slalom and Foiling, we want to be sure to be ahead of the game, ensuring the new RS:RACING EVOXII performs equally well on fin as on foil. The EVOXII features a moderate high aspect ratio, where the larger sail sizes have a relatively higher aspect ratio than the smaller sail sizes. This design ensures that also the smaller sizes have that extra lift and efficiency, allowing the rider to get the maximum out of the sail.
Thanks to the high aspect ratio, we could eliminate the the larger sizes from the range, as the 9.0 will perform in the same way as a 9.4 in lighter winds. The high aspect ratio especially impacts the luff length and boom size needed per sail. The bigger the sail, the more pronounced is its high aspect ratio, meaning that the bigger size sails will need smaller booms in relation.
The RS:RACING EVOXII will come with new sizes and larger gaps in between, as we have improved the wind range; meaning we can cover wider wind ranges with less sizes. RS:RACING EVOXII – the art of racing, made for you.

KEY FEATURES:
NEILPRYDE RACING PROGRAM
A mark that declares the concentrated essence of NeilPryde. Sails with the best technology, speed, power and enhanced specification, designed to let you experience the unexpected. Sails made to compete and win.
Over 30 years of undisputed leadership in slalom and speed events didn’t come by chance. It came from the hands and hearts of the best racers in the world, the best designers and top engineers. At NeilPryde we know how to bring them together and make the fastest sails in the world. Since we started the racing program in the early 1980’s, the objective has always been the same: Create the fastest and most advanced sails yet, through continuous research, development and innovation paired with an insatiable appetite for speed.
The technology, ideas and concepts that are created and refined during the RS: Racing development process are our guiding design principles, ultimately applied to all of the sails in the NeilPryde range. The RACING range stands for countless wins on the water, wins that are based on the continuous efforts our team makes, to create the fastest and most advanced sail yet.
PROGRESSIVE HIGH ASPECT RATIO DESIGN
With the 2020 series of the RS: Racing EVO we are introducing the high aspect ratio design that could already be found on the flight Evo. While the high aspect ratio is much more defined on the bigger sail sizes, it is less so defined on the smaller sizes. Thanks to this progressive high aspect ratio design, we are fully leveraging this design’s benefits. The sails become equally controllable on foil as well as on fin.
But what does high aspect mean for the sailor? The high aspect ratio of the sail adds stability and helps to improve the stability of the sail, especially when foiling, this is important, as you don’t want any change in the position of the draft. As soon as the center of effort moves unpredictably, the stability of the flight gets interrupted.
HIGHER EFFICIENCY
Lift is created by the leading edge. On a high aspect sail, the leading edge is much longer relative to the sail size and this extra lift creates a more efficient sail for the rider. One of the major drag components is the tip vortex. On a high aspect ratio sail this is relatively less compared to the overall sail size, hence the effect is minimized. This allows the rider to reach a very stable high speed.
TWIST SHAPING CONCEPT
Just like its predeccesors, the sail twist allows more release, so you feel like you have gained an extra gear. The EVOXII opens instantly, gaining that moment of acceleration when going through a gust, feeling much more stable and preventing the center of effort from moving back in the sail.
The result is reduced backhand pressure that gives smooth acceleration boosts in gusts.
